2.6.11- Fire on Maple Hill.

Watercolor and Ink on 300 lb Cold Press Acquarelle Arches Paper

Wanted to try a painting with only sedimentary colors, marrying some traditional Asian styles with Western ones, which turned out to be quite beautiful.  Left the subject matter on the hill blank per Maria’s suggestion, as it almost “appears as if something or someone had just left.”

2.1.12 – Transparent Spheres

Watercolor on 300 lb Fabriano Softpress Paper

Ugh, even washes are totally not easy. Layered three colors of the limited transparent pigment group: Aureolin, Cobalt Blue, and Rose Madder Genuine. Definitely need more practice here.
